Impact Ministries – Guatemala
Riverside Energy's 2015 project with Impact Ministries in Guatemala installed a solar array in Alta Verapaz, powering irrigation and community development.
In February 2015, Riverside Energy Systems volunteered with Impact Ministries Guatemala to design and install a grid-connected solar array on the Chisac property in Alta Verapaz. Impact Ministries, a Christian non-profit has been working to provide education, food, and hope to some of Guatemala’s most needy children and families.
The Chisac property produces food to help feed hundreds of children attending schools established by Impact Ministries in the region. The property also is home to a dormitory for visitors, a local church building, and a new orphanage under construction.
The grid-connected 6 kW solar PV array annually produces more than enough electrical energy to cover heavy electric pump operation required for crop irrigation on the Chisac property.
