Jeff’s residence was fitted with an 18 kW grid-connected rooftop solar system designed to reduce long-term electricity costs and increase energy independence.
The system is expected to generate approximately 16,529 kWh of clean electricity each year, offsetting around 72% of the household’s annual energy consumption and delivering estimated savings of $2,193 per year.
High-efficiency LONGi solar panels were selected for the installation, with forty 450 W modules delivering a total array capacity of 18.0 kW. The system is paired with APsystems DS3-L microinverters, allowing each panel to operate independently and helping maximise performance across varying conditions.
With a levelised energy cost of $0.062 per kWh, the installation provides strong long-term value while producing zero operational emissions. Over its lifetime, the system will meaningfully reduce carbon output, with an environmental benefit comparable to thousands of kilometres of car travel avoided, dozens of trees planted, and multiple long-haul flights offset.
