We were excited to work with these homeowners on their beautiful property in Barrière, BC. They were great to collaborate with throughout the entire process and had a clear vision for expanding the property’s energy infrastructure for the future.
After reviewing multiple system options, the homeowners chose an 18.0kW solar installation split across both the home and shop electrical services. This approach allowed us to maximize solar production while avoiding the need for a major service upgrade.
The completed system features 40 LONGi 450W solar panels paired with 20 APsystems DS3-L microinverters. The array was divided between the two services, with 24 panels connected to the home and 16 panels connected to the shop. Altogether, the system is designed to produce more than 16,600 kWh annually and offset approximately 68% of the property’s electricity usage.
This installation came with several unique design considerations, including a standing seam metal roof, multiple attic spaces, and vaulted ceiling sections. Our team used specialized non-penetrating roof clamps and carefully planned the layout to maximize solar production while maintaining clean cable routing throughout the property.
With future plans for EV charging and additional electrical upgrades already in the works, this solar installation was designed to support the property’s continued growth for years to come.
