Growing up in Prince George, I was surrounded by friends from Lheidli T'enneh and many other Nations. I later married an Indigenous woman and became a parent to two wonderful children — I've seen firsthand the impacts of colonization within my own family. For me, this is not just professional. It's personal.

Wattson
Riverside chose a beaver as our mascot because it holds deep cultural significance for many Indigenous communities, symbolizing hard work, wisdom, transformation, living in harmony with the land, and the ability to rebuild after hardship.
