Empowering a Bright Future at the Sq’éwqel Day Care
We were honoured to collaborate with a forward-thinking team in Agassiz, BC, on the completion of a solar installation for a local Indigenous preschool. From initial planning to final connection, it was a privilege to support this environmentally conscious project dedicated to community well-being and sustainability.
This project was completed for the Sq’éwqel (Seabird Island Band) Day Care—a centre that plays a vital role in early childhood education while upholding the values, language, and culture of the Sq’éwqel people. The daycare is known for offering safe, nurturing spaces for children aged 0 to 6, and this solar upgrade reflects their long-standing commitment to environmental stewardship and community resilience.
Project Highlights:
- System Size: 21.6 kW
- Panels Installed: 48 high-efficiency Longi 450W bifacial solar modules
- Inverter Setup: 12 APsystems QT2 208V inverters
- Electrical Integration: Solar tied into a 100A generation panel, which connects to the main electrical system using specialized 80A Siemens breakers
- Roof Type: Asphalt shingle
- Location: Agassiz, BC
This installation was custom-designed to fit both the building’s structure and the client’s budget, made possible through close collaboration with daycare leadership and project management teams. Despite several rounds of revisions to meet specific funding and tax-exemption requirements, our teams worked together efficiently to deliver a solution that will provide clean, reliable energy for decades to come.
We are proud to support projects like these that reflect sustainability, education, and Indigenous leadership in clean energy.
