Riverside Energy Systems was awarded a contract to complete a solar feasibility review for Wet’suwet’en Village buildings (Burns Lake, BC), and deliver design/build solar projects in the community. Feasibility review work was completed in August 2019, followed by a 4-day immersion workshop at NVIT. The workshop consisted of 3 days of grid-connected solar system training and a 1 day introduction to off-grid systems.
Based on favorable feasibility review results, Riverside delivered hands-on training integrated with solar installation projects in Wet’suwet’en Village in 2020. Due to Covid-19 concerns, work was deferred to 2021 when a grid-connected solar system and essential load backups were installed for the Yinka Dene Economic Development (YLP) building.
