A Step Forward Together:
Indigenous Reconciliation Plan
Some of the most meaningful projects we’ve worked on at Riverside Energy Systems haven’t just been about solar panels or energy production. They’ve been about people; learning names, sharing meals, hearing stories, and being welcomed onto lands that have carried history for generations.
Our office stands on the traditional and unceded territory of Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc, and over the years, our work has taken us into many Indigenous communities across British Columbia. Each partnership has taught us something important: real progress begins with listening.
And now, we’re honoured to share our Indigenous Reconciliation Action Plan. Not as a final statement, but as a promise. A promise to keep learning, to keep showing up, and to ensure our work supports community priorities like energy independence, local training, and long-term opportunity.
Inspired in part by the Calls to Action from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada, this plan lays out the steps we’re taking to turn intentions into action; from cultural learning and employment pathways to stronger partnerships and more inclusive practices within our company.
We know reconciliation isn’t a box to check. It’s a relationship to build. It’s something that grows through time, trust, and shared effort.
We invite you to read our Reconciliation Action Plan
and learn about the commitments guiding our path forward.
We are also grateful to include a letter of support from Dan George, whose words remind us why this work matters and who it must ultimately serve.
This is only one step — but it’s one we take with respect, humility, and hope for what we can build together.
