Riverside Energy Systems had the opportunity to assess several municipal buildings and help identify suitable locations for solar. Our team looked at factors including roof structure, orientation and the potential value of a system at each site.
The Village of Chase council has voted to move ahead with plans to install solar panels on its fire hall and public works building. The project is intended to reduce the Village’s electricity costs over the long term, using provincial climate action funding. We’re happy to help the Village of Chase move this project forward and make informed decisions about where solar can serve the community best.
As Castanet Kamloops reported, council selected the fire hall and public works building after considering several options. Trees shading the Village office roof would affect its solar production, while the arena’s roof needs repairs before it could support a solar installation.
Projects like this show why the first step is to look closely at each building. Its roof condition, available space and electricity use all affect how well solar will work. We’re pleased to have contributed to that planning process and look forward to seeing Chase’s plans progress.
